Courses

Our General English curriculum presently consists of 17 levels. We provide the students with a solid base in the structure of the English language as well as a genuine opportunity to speak. This involves extensive use of communicative methodology to reinforce and complement various grammatical and structural points throughout the syllabus.

The minimum age for study in the general program is fourteen and the majority of the students attend private secondary schools or universities.

00037.jpgWe also have young learner classes which are divided into Early Learners for students from five to six years of age, High Flyers for students from six to nine years of age and Trailblazers for students from ten to fourteen years of age. Our general English classes use our own English@EF textbooks as the base curriculum and other ELT resources to supplement. The English First courses, which are divided into eleven levels, go from absolute beginner to advanced. We also offer six "Post Advanced" levels to encourage our students to continue practicing their English.

Lessons are centred on the communicative method and focus is placed on establishing interactive competence in learners as quickly as possible.

EF provides a free internet connection for teachers and students. You will also have full use of the school facilities including an ELT (ESL) resource room containing a large number of standard ELT resource materials, course books and teacher support materials, photocopying facilities, computer lab with CD ROMS and Computer Aided Language Learning (CALL) programs.

Teacher development consists of regular observations, followed up with constructive one-to-one feedback and workshops.
